This client debuted as a boot-strapped startup. Intended to be the ultimate tool for outdoor enthusiasts, the fledgling business needed to quickly build Android and iOS versions of its app to demonstrate traction and raise critical funding. They also needed expert support managing the AWS infrastructure. With limited resources, the client found it difficult to hire a qualified development team to reach its goals. 

Solution

The client contacted to UnifyCX to build an iOS and Android app similar to what was built internally. With two full-time developers and two part-time as needed, we provided much-needed flexibility for scaling team size up or down within their budget.

Our Android development team communicated daily with the client’s developers and CTO to draw out user stories. We also collaborated with the client’s CEO and CTO to map out leading-edge features like Facebook login ability and podcasts, and plan releases. Both Android and iOS versions were not only supported, but enhanced by new features, bug fixes, and app testing. UnifyCX also provided infrastructure support for their AWS environment. The app was released in less than three months using agile methodology.

Results

The client’s successful launch and subsequent app updates resulted in thousands of downloads and significant user traction. Because they efficiently used its funding to retain UnifyCX services, the startup was able to adhere to an accelerated launch schedule, which prevented what would have been a year-long delay. Since the initial launch, the company has raised additional funds, expanded operations, and emerged as a major player in its space.
